Irene lifts her head up from the papers she was reading, a smirk quirking at the corners of her lips as she tilts her head and gives Molly a brief once-over. The girl looks nervous, her hands twitching slightly at her sides, and her determined expression falters slightly when Irene makes eye contact.

“What was that?”

“Well, I just thought- it’s just that, you see, you’ve been here at the lab a lot lately, and you always seem to, um, to … flirt with me, I suppose. And it’s nice — that you talk to me the way that you do. You don’t have to say yes, I just thought I’d-“

Molly’s eyes widen slightly, her mouth opening and closing a few times as she fumbles over her words. The first thing that comes out is, “Really?”
