See, this, I think, is what I love about Kronk.  On the shallowest surface level, he fills the “low IQ sidekick” role.  But ONLY on the shallowest surface level.

I’d have to watch the movie again to go into any detail, but Kronk is actually the smartest damn person IN this movie.  There’s nothing he doesn’t know, he’s got all this specialized knowledge, dude is probably horrifically well read.  He’s NOT stupid, he’s just eager to please and doesn’t have a proper “No” threshhold.

In the second gif, he’s like - “No, wait, I’m not who you think I am.”

Then in the fourth, he’s like - “Oh my God, the cook is gone and she’s got all these orders.  If somebody doesn’t cook that up people are going to get upset!  They’ll take it out on this poor woman who’s been on her feet all day and doesn’t deserve their wrath!  And…oh my God…PEOPLE WILL BE HUNGRY!”

Then in the sixth gif he’s like - “NOT ON KRONK’S WATCH!”

He’s doing the right thing and he knows it.  No judgement, no condescension, just always a moment to register the task at hand, determine the most logical course of action to completing it, and then it’s GO GO GO.

His only problem is that he never stops to ask himself whether this is actually his problem to solve, or whether people are taking advantage of him, and I love him for it.

I just…love him.

Kronk is the best hands down.

/v/ makes the next LoZ game
What if Nintendo made a Zelda game where you played as Zelda, disguised as Sheik, during the seven years Link is sleeping in the Temple of Time?
Aside from Impa in Skyward Sword, there’s not much we know about the Sheikah, retainers of the Hyrule Royal Family, and why they all disappeared. And what of Hyrule’s “dark and bloody past” in the Shadow Temple? Could the Sheikah and their disappearance have anything to do with it? There’s a whole chunk of lore and story and money to be made from such an idea!
-Stealth-action game complete with Sheik’s gear and abilities from both OoT and the Smash games
-Explore the secrets of Hyrule hidden by the Sheikah
-Learn the ways of the Sheikah
-Follow Zelda’s quest as she copes with the loss of her kingdom, her own disappearance in her people’s time of need, uncover Ganondorf’s plans, and help set the stage for the Hero of Time’s own work.
This would be awesome, but I’m afraid it might be too grimdark for Zelda. /v/ actually came up with a good idea.

yes please

I want this to be a real game!

CAN THIS BE A THING. LIKE, A LEGITIMITE THING? I NEED THIS LIKE AIR.

Pretty sure I would sell my soul for this.

A thought on Kamen Rider Wizard

wraithstrike:

Have you ever really considered just how terrifying it is for the Riders to be in a situation that requires Dragorise or Chimerise?

Here there are, inside the memories of a person who’s about to give up hope. There’s a demon in here that if it breaks through is going to kill the person. Every time the demon flails around, more cracks form in the already flimsy barrier between the person’s spirit and reality.

So what do the Ringed Wizards do?

They call out their own inner demons.

With one ring, they give the Phantoms inside them a chance to get out, to become more powerful. Even though Haruto may shout “Dragon, Submit to Me!” He still needs to force his Phantom to obey his commands. And it’s not just a battle of might. It’s a battle of Will. Haruto and Nitoh need to maintain a tight grasp on their Phantoms.

They call forth their inner demons to exorcise the demons of another person. That person then becomes inextricably linked to them, or seeks to get away as quickly as possible. And for these two wizards, the latter option is preferable. Because that means one less person in the line of fire.

Those who run away from the Wizards need never fear being there when the Phantoms grow strong enough to break through fully. When Wizardragon and Chimaera finally run out of use for their human hosts, they will break through and consume them.

And that’s why they try so damned hard to destroy Phantoms before they have a chance to break the Gates. Because every battle in a new person’s Underworld is another step closer to the day when hope fails and the Dragon and Chimaera are freed.

Different Kinds of Readers.

The Devourer: Each book is a snack for this kind of reader--but it doesn't mean that s/he won't enjoy each book just as much.
The Lover: Books read by this kind of reader are read in hidden, stolen moments at the most unexpected times.
The Slow Dancer: Books are a treat that this kind of reader savors. Slow and steady wins this reader's race, as his/her eyes take in and taste each and every word.
The Addict: Books are a conquest to this kind of reader. S/he will buy more books than s/he can read, but s/he will ALWAYS have something to read.
The Classic: Books of the past are a gift to this reader. Prose in the style of early contemporary authors, or stories written long ago, are favorites for this reader.
The Die-Hard: Genres are a way of life for this reader. S/he finds a niche and sticks to it--veering from what s/he knows for short bursts of time.
The Advocate: This reader is a lover of books. S/he is not just a reader, but an advocate of reading--hoping that the future will contain more readers.
The Hoarder: Too many books, too little time. S/he gathers dozens and dozens of books that all sound wonderful and starts them all at once, usually ending up finishing none.
What kind of reader are you? Add on if you wish!

So I’ve been thinking about Wizard’s Dragon forms

zomtastic:

Flame uses Dragon’s Head

Hurricane uses the wings

Water uses the tail

Land is probably going to use legs or something?

This obviously means that Haruto is going to have some badass full Dragon form right?

BUT

I was thinking of the ramifications of this.

More than once has it been foreshadowed that Dragon IS BAD NEWS

  • In the beginning Haruto says he is keeping a Phantom inside him and that how he can use magic. So what happens when Dragon is out in the real world?
  • Koyomi has made it really clear that she does not think the Dragon rings are a good idea.
  • WISEMAN WAS TOTALLY EXPECTING THE BLUE STONE TO BE TAKEN. THAT OBVIOUSLY IS BAD.
  • Dragon is a Phantom, not a cute lil’ guy. Nuff said.

I have a really bad feeling about about this whole USING PARTS OF DRAGON IN THE REAL WORLD.

Like is Wiseman going to drop down at some point when Haruto is in (my hypothetical) Dragon form and separate them because it’s the fact that Haruto is keeping Dragon INSIDE him that he can use magic.

Auuuugh I’m just wondering what’s going to happen and I need to get this out.

One thing I really LOVE about Katara is that she’s a woman who really OWNS her anger.

Like, girls are taught to never get angry. Never be rude. Don’t yell. It makes you unlikable. It’s not lady-like.

And Katara just says fuck you to that. She’s sweet, and mothering, and caring, and nurturing almost all the time. But when she’s angry? She’s ANGRY. And she OWNS it.

She yells at people, she threatens people. Sometimes she’s vain and jealous on top of it all too, and she owns up to that. It takes a special kind of courage and strength to look someone in the eye and honest to god YELL at them.

Especially the fight above. Paku is an elder, a man in charge. He’s in a privileged position of power over her. And Katara doesn’t take that shit anyway.

God damn A+ Female empowerment right there.

OMG

yes!

Katara is a nurturing fighter

THIS IS WHY I LOVE HER

And even if at the end of the day, everything does not go as planned, she’s able to move past the anger even if she still feels something is wrong or unjust. Because she can’t right every wrong, and every human can’t always do the right thing. I love that they gave her those flaws, but doesn’t let it consume the character, if that makes sense. Like in ONE OF THE BEST EPISODES EVER, The Southern Raiders, she could never forgive the mother fucker that killed her mother, never, and she knows that. Even when she knew how sad and pathetic he grew to be, she couldn’t make that forgive him. But still, she stepped away from her anger because she didn’t want to be that person.
